Footprints for the Future

This Youth Day, join us for a morning of movement, community and giving back, with our friends at the Hout Bay Leopards and Pura Soda!

We'll be kicking things off with a choice of a 5km hike, an easy 6km trail trot, or an 8km trail run, before coming together for a community beach clean-up at Hout Bay Beach. If running or hiking isn't your thing, join us just for the clean-up.

Tickets are a minimum R50 donation, with proceeds going to support Sentinel Ocean Alliance's youth programmes. A R100 donation will enter you into the prize giveaway.

Beach clean-up bags will be provided by Sealand. Feel free to bring gloves if you prefer.

Kids, dogs, friends and family are all welcome.

Milnerton Beach Clean Up

We joined forces with Sealand, Marine Watch, Guardians of the Deep, Prescient Freedom Paddle, SANParks, and a number of collaborators, to clean up Milnerton Beach, on Friday 24 April 2026. Ahead of the iconic Prescient Freedom Paddle which took place on 27 April.

The goal: remove litter and waste, before it entered our oceans, and educate the youth and public on litter, environmental care and marine protection.

Poolution Campaign

This campaign aimed to highlight the reality of ocean waste. Using an intricately woven pool cover, which was created using waste found in the ocean of the Southern Peninsula, and placing this cover in some of the most renowned tidal pools on that coast.

The objective was to turn the morning dip into a moment of reflection.

Protect our Trails

Protect our Paths started with a call to conserve the natural playgrounds that we gain so much inspiration from. Picking up one piece of litter every time you are on a trail has no impact on your time in nature. We use nature to ground ourselves, recharge and just because we love it. Why not show Mother Nature quite how much we love her by preserving these paths for future generations. As simple as picking up one piece of litter.

Protect our Paths' Partners

Protect our Paths is a concept that many people can relate to and believe in. For this reason, we have partnered with multiple brands in hope of spreading the Protect our Paths message. It has been our goal to turn an idea into a campaign and a campaign into a movement.

It's as simple as picking up 1 piece of litter.

World Surf League
J-Bay Corona Fest

Together, Sealand and Protect our Paths sponsored the WSL Jeffereys Bay Open. This event was a huge success for Sealand as a brand but it was just as powerful for Protect our Paths.

The beach clean-ups were fun and very engaging, the Protect our Paths giveaways around the event space stood out, but most importantly of all, the Sealand Airs 4 Good show was phenomenal. This air competition raised awareness around a local community project known as The Recycling Project, as well as 200 give bags that were donated.

Sentinel Ocean Alliance

Sentinel Ocean Alliance provides a safe space to create and implement multi-faceted youth development programmes and environmental initiatives. The aim is to address real challenges facing the youth of previously disadvantaged coastal communities. Support is given by enabling future responsible leaders to become ocean activists and make meaningful contributions to South African society.

Wild Child Africa
The Pondo Trail

Wild Child Africa specialise in fully-catered walking trails along the beautiful Eastern Cape coastline. They created the Pondo Trail™, which consists of an ULTRA and a 3 DAY STAGE trail run format.

This unique coastline is too fragile to sustain high density tourism. Therefore, the Pondo Trail™ is an exclusive, high-end product with a low environmental impact that strives to educate the fortunate few who grace its shores. May they experience its inner beauty and endeavour to preserve its future.

Sky Run Series

The Skyrunning Series is based on European-style mountain running, where technical trails, big mountains and fast descents into villages below are the order of the day.

With the series taking place in winter, there is the possibility of snowy peaks on bluebird days or a good old-fashioned Cape storm. The races are short and sharp, and the experiences are infinitely bound to the authentic mountain trail.
